Each Buffalo Flats Stringworks guitar is created in Grafton, WV from rough sawn wood that is chosen for its beauty and character. Kymberly Byers is the artist who creates these instruments. The wood is supplied by independent sawmills/woodcutters, who understand and are cooperative in this artistic endeavor. Zero computers or automated equipment is used. The neck is handcarved using a spokeshave, a traditional woodworkers tool dating back past the 16th century. The final neck shape is greatly infuenced by the natural properties of the wood. The finish is a combination of tung oil and multiple coats of Natural wood oil. This medium hardness finish is both durable and easily repairable. The body shape is intended to be balanced, fit under the chest when seated, and ultimately be just the right size. Nothing more, nothing less than what is truly needed to deliver the highest quality, clearest sound...your personal sound.

The body of this guitar is from a maple tree harvested in Canaan Valley, the neck is a maple tree from Upshur County, and the fretboard is walnut from Knottsville, all in West Virginia.
